Slovenian army modernised 52 T-55 S and that is one example.

well its not T55s its called M55s and there are 52 in use.. Tanks and IFVs * 54x M-84 MBT * 52x M-55 S MBT (stored) * 52x M-80A IFV * 72x Valuk IFV * 135x Patria AMV (have been ordered) +10 ottokars and other kind of lightarmored vehicles..

I heard they're being retired....which is a bit strange as they are not really old (after modernisation)

I heard that too I don't know.. there are many speculations now, I heard that they'll even buy new.. I don't know.. It wouldn't be strange that Slovenia will buy some new tanks, maybe german as I heard.. Leopard.

Damn good pics Rovac, looks like a very modern active army for such a small nation.
Those 55s look really purposfull, its hard to believe they are a 55 chassis underneath that new armour.
Do you think they will replace the 55 with a western tank?
