That's a complete nonsense... Germanization stoped in 1918 with the creation of the Czechoslovak Republic. After WWII after we kicked out the German trash our language was de-germanized and words from Russian and Polish were placed instead. Shortly after the WWII we didn't use capital letters when referring to Germany or Germans ( germany or germans, LOL). In Russian you have many words from German, too (for example a potato, Kartoffel - êàðòîôåëü). So please don't say crap like we are germanized or something. We only don't like mess, that's all. Degermanizing the language? Double respect!!!!! In fact I noticed when I read a Czech syntax book that u guys have less German words than the Polaks. I was really surprised. Anyway, you people should continue to be proud of yourselves and not be desperate to be Yank, German or whatever. Slavic Pride!

Demokrat sorry but that is what I have been told half of my life by people I meet. Yeah russian has many french and german words and I think Peter the great and also the commies did a misstake. If they didnt change the language maybe we could understand serbs and other slavs much much more now.
Demokrat you should know that it makes me glad to see that you dont like germans in Czech republic, but I have been told that on the border to germany there is Czechs who speak more german than the Czehian.

German influence on the Czech language is not an issue now, now all the new words come from English and we sort of transform them. I think the only nation in Europe, which is careful about their language on national level is France, maybe other as well, but unfortunately I do not think that Czech government does anything in this field.

...and kick them out we did! all 3,500,000 of them! All they left Czechoslovakia with was 1 suitacase, the clothes they were wearing and thier wedding ring. The Poles also kicked out thier German riffraf and sent them back to sausage and beer gut land.
We do not need such polls to afirm if Czechs are proud of this or that. Anyone who considers themself a Czech or Czechoslovak should be proud of that fact, and if they are not then they are not a Czech!
Dont forget the Czech nation has 2 distinct groups, Bohemians and Moravians, also a Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian minority which help make up the Slavic state and perpetuate the Czech land's Slavic aurora.

There was a survey conducted in the Czech Republic as to which countries they liked the most. The results are quite interesting. Slovakia is the most liked country by the Czechs. Whereas some of the least liked countries are Serbia, Russia and Ukraine The US was seen in a more favorable way than Serbia Out of any former Yugoslav republics the most favorable were Slovenia and Croatia. Putin was also, along with Bush, the most disliked leader by the Czechs. But Tony Blair, Jacques Chirac and Angela Merkel are some of the more popular ones.

(Beta)

Heeheh it surprises me the Czechs like Angela Merkel when her party and buddy in Bavaria Edmund Stoiber had been bringing up the question of the Sudeten Germans.

Good for them. All that I know of, is that when the west sunks, and is overcome by muslims, all these traitours will get what is due for them, but then it will be too late. All I have to say is, good riddance. Won't be missed.
