People should be able to discuss about the Hystory of Makedonia if they do it in an academic manner.

Well, once a flame war starts, we can always shut the thread down. But I was always curious, why are we not allowed to discuss the history of Makedonija?
Hail Slavija

Hail Slavija Simply because the topic always causes continuous flame wars which would not stop regardless of any measure taken. We ended up deleting so many threads every day, that is just made more sense to ban this discussion.

The answer to this is given by one of the forum rules :
"Do not start a new thread as a reply to a previous thread, unless it's at the bottom of the page."

It is you, Russkii Voin, who are the best qualified to determine if an argument is given in an academic manner or not.

I understand the concept, but this will probably just turn into the moderators deleting more and more posts with no effect. Nothing we tried before worked.

Here's a simple way of dealing with that Macedonia problem: Everytime they start flaming each other, post this and remind them that they have bigger problems. Soon it won' matter where anybody thinks that Macedonians come from because that land will be full of Albanians. "....Washington and Brussels had praised the government for preventing a Macedonian nationalist backlash against the laws, a crucial part of the 2001 Ohrid peace accord which ended 7 months of guerrilla conflict. "I think that one of the coalition parties sees its place in government as an instrument for the partial implementation of the political processes of the Ohrid agreement," he said, in a clear reference to the Democratic Union for Integration of ethnic Albanian former guerrilla leader Ali Ahmeti. "They promote only their own national and party ends."….The defeat of the November 7 referendum by no means ended Macedonia's ethnic problems. About 500,000 Macedonians, or one in three, voted to reverse the laws despite calls for a boycott from the government and from it powerful Western backers……. Its bid to join the European Union depends on mending ethnic divisions. But nationalists believe the coalition government is bowing too far to Western demands and that dividing local government on ethnic lines will split the country -- which many suspect remains the goal of Albanian leaders. Ethnic stability is vital to Macedonia, which could be vulnerable to any spillover in 2005 from its northern neighbor Kosovo, the volatile Serbian province ruled since 1999 by the United Nations..." www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europ...reut/index.htmlv

How is it possible a Slavic forum to be set up and held in English language!? Ridiculous! As much as I'd love to use inter-slavic all the time... English is more widely known, and seems to be a common secondary tongue for many Slavs. But that is probably my Western roots showing (I really need to get off my lazy Australian ass and become fluent in mymother tongue, Polish!).
